I have been collecting tutus, bows and frilly bottoms for months, so I was super excited with the opportunity to take photos of newborn girl Layla! I really love doing lifestyle photoshoots for newborns. Capturing them in their natural environment is so authentic and genuine and I am so happy with the end product from this day!
Mom’s always stress when it takes a few minutes for their little loves to fall asleep, but I see this as a great chance to get some crying pictures (which are always adorable…you’ll look back and think so too moms!) and some really natural photos of baby being soothed by mom or dad, lots of yawns, and eventually falling into a dream world. Obviously the sleeping photos are great because this is when I can focus in on the details of their tiny little faces, their delicate hands and my favorite…the feet! I love love love newborn detail shots, as you will see. I believe it is really important to have these as your baby’s look will change so much in the next few months!
A big thank you to my Mother In Law, Judy, for letting me borrow her mother’s real pearls for the shoot, as I forgot mine at home. I think Barbara is whispering a little joke in Layla’s ear as she seemed to be smirking in a few of the pearl photos.
Here are a few of my favorites from my day with Layla:
